    Position Summary

    WATE 6 On Your Side, the Nexstar ABC affiliate in Knoxville, Tennessee has an immediate opening for a Full Time Technical Media Operator to join our award-winning team.  We are seeking a motivated, dependable, well-organized individual with the ability to multi-task and display good judgment in live broadcast situations to join our production team.  This position pulls from traditional Directing, Technical Directing, and Master Control skills.

     

    A successful candidate will have proficient computer skills, fundamental knowledge of the production process for Live News Broadcast, and an understanding of audio board operation, video switchers, digital video workflow, and Master Control duties.    Strong communication skills and success in working with a group is a must.  Training is available for a successful candidate. Experience with Ross Overdrive production automation, and Crispin master control software a plus.

     

    Candidates must be available to work a variety of different shifts, (early mornings, nights, weekday, or weekends). Must also be able to stand, sit, reach, climb, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, and make decisions that impact the results of co-workers. Work in close proximity to others, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions or outdoors during remote broadcasts. In addition, must be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions. Must be able to climb 12' ladder.  Must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 40 pounds
