    Position Summary

    WRBL-TV  Columbus, Georgia / Nexstar Media Group is accepting applications for qualified  Reporter / Week End Anchor Producer.

    As with all Newsrooms your Hours will vary for Breaking News and covering other Team Members who are out.

    Duties include, but are not limited to Reporting, Anchoring & Producing during newscasts as well as cut-ins. Live Reporting, Anchoring & Producing skills preferred. Must have the ability to enterprise "On Your Side" stories, you must be creative, a self-starter, who are willing to go the extra mile and to pitch in where needed; should possess solid news judgment; excellent writing and storytelling abilities; have working knowledge of the internet, web presentation, college degree and 2-3 yrs television reporting and anchoring experience preferred.


    Reporter / WE Anchor & Producer must Shoot & Edit News Stories Daily.

    Must have knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act& how to use it.

    Must be responsible with Company Equipment and Vehicles.

    Ability to work well with the others.

    Strong Time Management & Organizational Skills are needed.

    The ability to work under pressure, handle breaking news, extreme pressure situations, last minute changes and meet station deadlines.

    Must be willing and able to regularly engage on social media.

    You may be asked to attend & speak at Events as a Station Representative for Station Promotion &/or Community Events.

    Must have a Bachelor Degree in Journalism /Media /Communications or a related field and 2 to 3 yrs minimum experience with live reporting and anchoring is preferred.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Tech Skills:


    Must be able to operate Computers, Phones, Faxes, Scanners, Mobile IPhones, Police Scanners, Live TV Units & Wifi Equipment, Video Cameras, Microphones, Light and a Tripod.



    AP ENPS Newsroom Software, Non-Linear Editing, Word Press, Social Media, Email, HTML Web Skills and other related software.


    Job Skills:

    Live Reporting , Anchoring and Producing skills preferred. Must be familiar with editing process and be able to enterprise lead story ideas. Producing is a plus. You must have the ability to bend, squat, reach, lift, carry, setup & use a video camera to shoot stories and do live shots along with a tripod, light, mobile phone, Wi-Fi equipment, microphone. You must be able lift and carry up to 30 lbs. of equipment.


    Minimum Education:

    Bachelor's Level Degree

    Journalism / Media / Communications


    Minimum Experience:

    2-3 yrs. of experience.


     Candidates must have a Valid Driver’s License and a Good Driving Record.

    Pre - Employment Background Screenings are also required.  EOE   M/F/D/V
