    Position Summary

    KLAS-TV, the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Senior Director for its AM News Production team.   The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and supervising the morning production team, conduct employee performance reviews, as well as assist the news production Manager in all other aspects of managing the News Production department.  Shift will offer consistent hours with our AM team; but will also require the flexibility to be on call for additional hours as needed by the business and News Production Department. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties include understanding and the operation of all control room equipment in the News Production department.  This includes equipment such as the switcher, character generator, video servers, newsroom computer systems and Adobe photoshop.  Other duties include, but are not limited to:  Audio Operations, Studio Camera, Teleprompting, and Live Operations.

    A minimum of five years experience as a Newscast Director with supervisory experience at a broadcast television station is required.  Bachelor’s Degree in television production preferred or equivelant experience. Knowledge with Ross switchers, Chyron Lyric, Avid INews is a plus.  Must be able to work independently, multi-task and problem solve on the fly.
