    Position Summary

    Nexstar Broadcasting Group is recruiting for an experienced, enthusiastic, hard-working and organized Administrative Assistant to the Vice President/General Manager for KASW-TV, the CW Affiliate serving the Phoenix, Arizona market (DMA #11).  The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail, thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a flair for customer service.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Provides administrative support to the Vice President/General Manager, Department Heads and other station personnel
    • Handles Human Resources at the local level to include payroll, files, employee reviews, unemployment claims, posting of jobs, employment ad placement, processes new hires
    • Works with corporate payroll to notify of changes in employee status, time record discrepancies and general payroll questions
    • Fully understands company benefits and can assist employees with questions.
    • Maintain FCC EEO files and complete FCC EEO Annual report
    • Book employee travel, maintain travel profiles
    • Maintain staff vacation calendar
    • Upload electronic files to FCC website
    • Codes station invoices and submits to corporate for payment through online portal
    • Supports the Content and Creative Services teams to schedule guests and locations for filming locally produced programming
    • Assists with promotional commercial scheduling as needed
    • Prepares and executes station trade agreements including enter orders and assigning traffic
    • Maintains strict fiscal and personnel confidentiality
    • Maintains office supplies and contacts maintenance personnel as necessary
    • Performs other duties as assigned

     

    Requirements & Skills:

    • High School diploma
    • Fluency in English
    • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
    • Minimum two year’s experience in clerical support or administrative assistance, preferably in the broadcast industry
    • Experience using MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Outlook and Wide Orbit a plus.
    • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.

     

    Physical Demands & Work Environment:

    The Executive Assistant must be able to sit, reach, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
