    Position Summary

    The Creative Services Assistant works within the established Promotions Department guidelines to carry out the objectives of the department.  This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get into broadcast and digital media. This person must be highly organized and capable of providing creative services, promotional, sales and marketing support; a person with good team vibe, sense of humor, dynamic, self-motivated with experience and skills in shooting, writing and editing, graphic design, and site management.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

     

    Job Duties:

    • Assists in the Creative Services Promotions department to turn out a first-rate final product for broadcast.
    • Assist in production of commercials and programs, for live broadcast and digital platforms.
    • Shoot, produce and edit all commercials, programs and shared ID’s.
    • Create and build sets as needed.
    • Design graphics and logos for promotional use.
    • Shooting of local news stories or video daily.
    • Perform other responsibilities deemed necessary and appropriate as directed by supervisor and Vice President/GM.
    • Responsibilities shall include videography, graphics, editing, strategic placement of announcements on programming logs, copywriting, working promotional events, clerical support and posting on social media.                                               

    Requirements & Skills:

     

    • College education preferred in an Art related degree: film, graphic design, fine arts, etc or closely related field or equivalent experience is a plus.
    • Fluency in English with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
    • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
    • Being flexible and a team player is important to be successful in this position. Adapt to rapid changes and         deadlines.
    • Prior editing experience beneficial, familiarity with HD formats.
    • General computer and Windows based program experience is necessary.
    • Have adequate transportation, current driver's license and good driving record. Must pass background check.
    • Strong writing skills and video shooting and editing experience.
    •  Have a willingness to learn and advance, bring energy to the team.
    • Flexibility to work any shift to include weekend assignments as well as "on call" status as determined by management.
    • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites including Premier and After Effects.
    • DSLR Camera experience.  

    Physical Demands & Work Environment:


    The Creative Services Assistant must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work near others, work outdoors in all weather conditions on occasion, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. The Creative Service Assistant must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
