Are you a news producer looking for your next career challenge in an amazing place to live?  We are WSPA-TV & WYCW, the Nexstar-owned CBS & CW stations in the Greenville-Spartanburg-Asheville-Anderson market (DMA #38), and we are looking for a newscast producer to join our award winning 7 News team. We can offer you a great newsroom in which to grow your skills, and life in one of the highest rated places to live in the country.  We need a team player with producing experience in a television newsroom who can manage the entire process of producing. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Responsible for evaluating stories and organizing them into a cohesive and compelling newscast.
    • Oversee the writing, production, and timing of each broadcast.
    • Help lead the news room, contribute to the editorial process and make solid decisions in breaking news situations.
    • Monitor production processes to ensure accurate completion of details.
    • Help execute strategies that engage and grow audiences across all station platforms, broadcast and digital.

 Requirements & Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Minimum two years’ experience in news operations (Depending on market size)
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Flexibility to work any shift

 Physical Demands & Work Environment:

The News Producer must be able to stand, sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work near others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.  In addition, the News Producer must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.  Repetitive movements are required.  Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
