    Position Summary

    KETK-FOX51 News seeks a MultiMedia Photographer who researches, shoots and edits video, and produces stories for digital and broadcast platforms. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Produce written and video content for multiple platforms, with emphasis on website, mobile apps, social platforms and TV newscasts
    • Work with management, assingment editor and show producers to enterprise and develop stories daily
    • Demonstrate ability to engage with digital audience through creative use of digital and social media platforms
    • Organize material, determine angle or emphasis, and write story according to prescribed editorial style and format standards
    • Shoot video, conduct interviews (on or off-camera) and edit video (shot by you or provided by another source)
    • Gather and verify information regarding stories through interviews, observation and research
    • Other duties as assigned

     Requirements & Skills:

     

    • Associate's degree in Journalism (equivalent years of experience may substitute for education)
    • Proficency in social media content generation and distribution
    • Knowledge of broadcast quality camera equipment and other news-gathering gear, including TVU (live backpack)
    • Excellent social skills (interaction with public and co-workers) and calm under deadline pressure
    • Detail oriented, with excellent spelling and grammar
    • Demonstrate editorial judgment using knowledge of journalism ethics and libel laws
    • Strong writing and editing skills

     Physical Demands and Work Environment:

     

    The MultiMedia Photographer requires the operation of camera, camera equipment, computer and editing machine, and transport of equipment weighing up to 60 lbs.  High stress environment with deadline pressures. Travel will be required on a regular basis. Work may be performed in extreme outdoor temperatures.  A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required.
