    Job Summary:  Nexstar Media Group - News 8 / Nexstar Digital is seeking a high energy seller to bring comprehensive media solutions from our expansive portfolio to local/regional/national accounts in the territory to achieve sales targets and maximize revenue. 

     

    Who are we?

    Multiplatform media company based in downtown New Haven, CT, we are part of Nexstar Media Group.  We work with our clients and partners to get their message in front of the right people – with two television stations, a station website and mobile apps, and a national digital media company –  we can reach audiences to garner mass awareness or create one to one engagement.

     

    What role will you play?

    A digital account executive at News 8/Nexstar Digital leads and educates advertising partners in the world of multi-platform marketing.  You will work to identify, develop and expand existing and new client relationships.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct research on target markets and trends and adjust sales strategy accordingly. This includes researching competitive media for new leads.
    • Build custom marketing plans and presentations to grow existing accounts and develop new advertisers. Marketing plans to be designed and customized based on the client’s goals.
    • Oversee campaign execution and educate your clients about changing statuses including: optimizations, KPIs, success stories and more. 
    • Design and present Proof of Performances with in-depth reporting throughout campaigns (monthly, quarterly, annually, etc)
    • Monitor accounts receivables.

                        

    Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

    • The ability to sell concepts and solutions, utilizing our media platforms as distribution and amplification tactics.
    • Knowledge of digital platforms and marketing opportunities. Preferred, but not required, knowledge about advertising on:  Social platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram), SEM, SEO, display (geo-fence, AT, SRT) and more.
    • Strong oral, problem solving, communications, writing, negotiation and presentation skills.
    • Must be well organized, display a professional demeanor, exude high energy and show attention to detail.
    • Must be a confident, flexible, multi-tasker, and be able to work independently.

     

    Education/Experience: 

    Prior experience is important for success.  While the role will be well supported within the organization, a proven track record will be sought in candidates.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Sales related experience preferred but does not need to be within the media industry.

     

    Training/Equipment: 

    • Required: Strong MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
    • Experience working with Google Ad Manager and Google Analytics preferred.

     

    Work Environment/Physical Requirements

    The Digital Account Executive must be able to sit for long periods of time, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Must be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.  Repetitive movements are required.  Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.

     

    A valid driver’s license, state mandated automobile insurance, and an acceptable driving record are also required.

    Croporate Job Description:

    The Account Executive, Digital Media Sales is responsible for generating digital revenue through the strategic selling of our Digital Marketing Services offerings.

    • Serve as the sales marketing lead driving revenue from digital marketing services for clients across all channels -- mobile, tablet and web
    • Develop and execute go-to-market sales strategies that result in exceeding revenue targets in Digital Marketing Services
    • Responsible for delivering and marketing a powerful suite of local digital marketing products and services that help local SMB’s grow successfully
    • Develop local sales strategies in major industry verticals (auto, medical, etc.)with clear goals and measurable objectives that can be tied to revenue growth.
    • Establish, maintain and grow relationships with advertisers and agencies 
    • Position and pre-sell all opportunities to highlight the benefit and value proposition in the marketplace
    • Consistently communicate with clients on all business activity
    • Complete knowledge of the market and competitive landscape
    • Utilize a consultative sales approach to develop strategic understanding of client’s business and marketing needs
    • Meet and exceed performance management targets for account activity and revenue generation
    • Serve as an advisor to GM and DOS and help make informed decisions on key issues surrounding digital marketing objectives
    • Establish key relationships within the local business community in order to effectively build and maintain ad revenue vs. budget

    Requirements & Skills:

    • BA or BS in Business, Marketing or Advertising preferred     
    • 5+ years of digital media sales and marketing experience preferred
    • Significant knowledge of the digital advertising landscape including Paid Search, Programmatic Ad buying, Social Media Management, Mobile Strategy etc.
    • Motivated, enthusiastic, self-starter who can work effectively both independently and in a team environment
    • Effective communication and client presentation skills
    • Ability to interact with high-level decision makers
    • Ability to sell through a consultative sales experience
    • Ability to sell a vast array of products
    • Excellent follow-up, strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals and secure revenue goals
    • Interest and passion for digital trends and how they relate to the media/ broadcast industry
    • Strategic thinker with strong ability to translate complex ideas into succinct, and compelling sales narratives
    • Resourceful, self-motivated and a skillful multI-tasker
    • Strategic foresight
    • Fluency in English
    • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
