    Position Summary

    KSNW is looking for a digital content producer that will produce original, engaging content for publication on our digital and on-air platforms in a newsroom that fosters growth and development. Successful candidates will help populate our digital platforms, write and edit digital stories, send mobile app push alerts and edit video clips for, working with producers, photographers and other newsroom staff. We are looking for strong writers who are detail oriented, able to research and generate unique and original content, work under pressure and deliver content in real-time.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Report news stories for digital platforms, including website, mobile app and social media
    • Create, edit and publish unique and original content on digital platforms, including website, mobile app and social media
    • Perform tasks with urgency, immediacy and accuracy
    • Research and analyze background information related to news stories to be able to provide complete and accurate information
    • Gather information about events through research, interviews, experience or attendance at political, news, sports, artistic, social or other functions
    • Pitch on-brand stories to news managers and news producers, relevant to the local community during regular meetings
    • Receive assignments and evaluate leads and tips to develop story ideas
    • Perform other duties as assigned

     Requirements & Skills:

    • Degree in journalism; daily newspaper or news site experience required; live, working web samples and/or print pages preferred
    • Fluency in English required -- Bilingual Spanish a plus
    • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
    • Proficiency in Associated Press style, Adobe Photoshop, and Basic HTML preferred
    • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, and other office equipment
    • Proficient research skills
    • Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar and organizational skills
    • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Promote teamwork and maintain attitude of cooperation with all station personnel
    • Flexibility to work any shift
    • Operate newsroom computer systems, possibly editing and camera equipment
    • Maintain positive work environment through active team participation and cooperation with co-workers in all departments
    • Respond positively to feedback

    WORK ENVIRONMENT/MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: High stress environment with deadline pressures. Position may require the transport of equipment weighing up to 60 lbs. Position requires individual to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use email, conduct face-to-face discussions, work in close proximity to others.
