Position Summary

The Digital Account Executive is responsible for generating new business through a structured, solutions driven sales approach that is aimed at meeting the unique needs of each client.  A typical day will include cold calling for new appointments, emailing contacts, following up and presenting customized client recommendations in person.  The ideal candidate will be a high energy, self-starter, who is results oriented. This role reports up to the Digital Sales Director and will have a chance to learn and collaborate alongside experienced sales leaders, digital strategists, account managers, campaign managers, search and social analysts and more.  


We provide a thorough onboarding and training for all sales team members, regardless of experience, to ensure a proper introduction to our team, digital ad solutions and value proposition.  In addition to ongoing mentoring, coaching and development, weekly live web ex training sessions are also available to you.  This is a performance-based role, team members are measured and held accountable for meeting monthly sales quotas.  Compensation is a combination of base salary plus commission on all business closed.  Commission is uncapped. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


What is expected of a Digital Account Executive at KXAN?

  • Leverage and apply the knowledge from our training program to target qualified businesses and offer impactful, customized solutions
  • 25 - 50 outbound calls per day to target advertisers
  • 10 – 15 client presentations each week
  • Research, analyze and monitor competitive media for new leads
  • Achieve monthly sales goal

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Strong oral, problem solving, communications, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Well organized, professional, high energy and detail-oriented.
  • Confident, flexible, multi-tasker, and able to work independently.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Self-Directed and action-oriented
  • Drive for results



Physical Demands & Work Environment:

The Digital Media Sales Account Executive must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work near others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
