    Position Summary

    Nexstar Broadcasting’s station, KRON4, the San Francisco Bay Area’s Local News Station, seeks a Studio Technician.

     

    This is a full-time, union position.

     

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    RESPONSIBILITIES/ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Operation of Ross OverDrive equipment, audio board operator, stage manager or other duties as assigned to execute KRON 4 newscasts and studio/remote productions
    • Experience with a TRICASTER is a plus
    • Applicants must possess a minimum of 3 years of major market newscast and studio/remote production experience
    • Applicants must have demonstrable automated production, directing and technical directing experience
    • Working knowledge of ENPS, MOS commands, Chyron, video server experience preferred
    • Must be able to work all hours and days
    • Physical requirements: standing, walking, seeing, hearing, computer use, sitting, climbing ladders
    • This position is under primary jurisdiction of IBEW
    • Management reserves the discretion to add or modify job duties as required
    • Must be a self-starter, hard worker, have a great attitude, and be versatile and efficient

     

    Physical Demands & Work Environment:

    The Studio Technician must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work near others, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.  In addition, the Studio Technician must be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.  Repetitive movements are required.  Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
