    KXRM/KXTU is seeking a creative, motivated, team first motion graphics designer to create visually compelling graphics for daily local news programs, sales projects, promotions, print, web/digital and station events. 

    The Graphic Designer position will interact with Newscast Management, Producers and Directors to successfully create designs to help the storytelling process. This position will also have the amazing opportunity to work with our sales department to create on-air still and motion graphics utilizing the latest in broadcast technology.This motion graphic design position will work closely with the Creative Services Director, Promotion and Production staff to visualize and execute concepts for all station projects. As part of the KXRM/KXTU team you will be required to maintain and advance the graphic look of the station, you will also manage all graphics and related files. This position will also assist commercial production and promotions with the creation and execution of sales and news projects. This will require shooting and editing video as needed.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Maintain and advance the graphic look of the station, while creating, managing and organizing all graphic needs and related files for multiple projects
    • Interact daily with news management, producers and directors to successfully create visually-compelling designs to enhance the storytelling process for our daily newscasts
    • Design and build graphics for nightly newscasts.  Includes building full screen monitor graphics, over the shoulder graphics, maps, mugshots and information graphics.  Most all work is template driven via photoshop
    • Other job duties will include operation of studio cameras, audio consoles, teleprompter and some basic news editing on Adobe Premiere Pro platform
    • Perform other duties as assigned                                    

    Requirements & Skills:

    • Knowledge and experience with: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator & Premiere Pro) and Ross Xpression Dual channel graphics system
    • Hands-on experience working in a live production environment
    • Operation of Ross Xpression or Chyron graphics system is and integration of ENPS newsroom solutions software is recommended
    • Clear communicator with ability to communicate seamlessly with newscast director and flexibility to work in rapidly changing situations
    • Experience with technical television news production, graphics design and or electronic media. Experience working in a newsroom environment will be considered
    • Knowledge and concept of sports and sports television production is helpful


    Physical Demands & Work Environment:

    The Graphic Designer must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work near others, work outdoors in all weather conditions on occasion, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
