Position Summary

Traffic Hub Director - oversight of a team of professionals who work directly with television stations across Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc. performing various tasks and responsibilities related to traffic roles.  Those functions include programming, log and inventory management, copy instructions and log reconciliation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages all HUB operations and personnel in concert to promote “best in class” service and support to NXST stations
  • Promotes a solution-based work environment whereby the traffic team is encouraged to be problem solvers
  • Engaged with the all members of the traffic and station management team to proactively address problems specific to the needs of the customer and requirements of the marketplace
  • Provides vision and direction to the department regarding corporate, division and regional goals, business plans and initiatives
  • Establishes and communicates clear direction and priorities to the staff and works with other departmental leaders to ensure priorities are met as well as operation efficacy
  • Monitors the team, system and fulfillment execution to ensure results meet the need of client’s campaigns and operational deadlines
  • Evaluates operational and technological needs to keep our competitive advantage in the industry both from a sales and operational perspective
  • Works closely with the markets and department to ensure data is organized, accurate and training is effective
  • Monitors the team execution of functions and the adherence to established policies and deadlines
  • Assists manager and mid-management leadership team in further development and managerial skills
  • Educate co-workers on various configurations and/or customization options
  • Contribute to the development and alignment of the company’s business strategy
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent of 10+ years’ broadcast media experience
  • Experience working with Wide Orbit traffic software
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task, balance priorities and take direction
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance
  • Possess excellent oral and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, rapidly changing culture and environment
  • Ability to lead and motivate a staff to be successful individually and as a team unit. 
  • Be a leader with a proven performance of high achievement as a result of inspiring others to achieve above their own expectation and capability

Physical Demands & Work Environment


The Traffic Hub Director must be able to:

  • Communicate well with others both in person and over the phone
  • Communicate directly with individuals or groups
  • Make decisions independently and be a good decisionmaker, always using good judgement
  • Travel from time to time to attend meetings with other peers and supervisors
  • Be available during off hours
