    Position Summary

    WRIC, Nexstar Broadcasting's ABC affiliate in Richmond VA has an immediate opening for a Sales Assistant to provide back up for Account Managers and Sales Managers.  The position is also responsible for assistance in the preparation of client presentations and avail proposals; and, input, management and maintenance of Sales Orders.  Direct contact with agency personnel and clients on all assigned accounts.  Work directly with traffic department to coordinate scheduling of advertisers. Focused on meeting client and station needs.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities


    Excellent telephone and verbal communication skills.  Accuracy and attention to detail critical.  Strong administrative, organizational and problem-solving skills necessary.  Sense of urgency, ability to handle pressure and prioritize multiple tasks.  Must be a self-starter who willingly accepts direction.  Mathematical aptitude and knowledge of Nielsen Audience Measurements a plus.  Computer proficiency with computer systems word processing and spreadsheet applications essential.  Must be flexible and be willing to work overtime.  Able to handle multiple tasks concurrently and consistently meet deadlines.  Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers; must be a team player.

    Position Requirements:
    One to two years of Sales/Traffic experience in a broadcast station, rep firm or ad agency or BS/BA degree preferred.   Excellent telephone and verbal communications skills.  Strong administrative, organizational and problem solving skills. PC/MAC Computer systems proficiency. Knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point essential.
