Position Summary

Fourstates and KSNF-TV has an immediate opening for a Digital Content Manager. The DCM should be passionate about local news, innovative, reader-focused, and full of creativity and initiative. The DCM must be able to bring the day's content to life in a way that engages and captures the attention of our online audience.

The Digital Content Manager should be very well versed in website architecture, user experience design and development including data management and optimization scripting languages and system administration. And should be able to act as our Digital reporter for "live" and recorded segments online, mobile, and on Social Media as needed.

The position must be able to create and implement a flow of creative solutions for daily operations, including training, tools, efficiencies and processes. In addition to site and product maintenance, the position is responsible for creating and executing product and project solutions to meet the strategic needs of the operation.

The DCM should be completely at ease with a digital lifestyle; have an advanced knowledge of CMS-based publishing platforms; an optimized and organized digital content for a good user experience; and have experience working with different digital video formats.

General Responsibilities

  • Works with Sales and News department personnel as well as other departments to solve problems and implement initiatives
  • Works with all departments to execute projects that develop and KPIs and compliment on-air products
  • Works closely with sales leadership to achieve sales-related content goals
  • Understands station goals and works to deliver tactics to achieve these goals
  • Keep up with industry trends and opportunities
  • Other duties as necessary
  • Operational Responsibilities
  • Manage all local digital platforms (core sites, apps, etc.)
  • Streaming and video on demand
  • Traffic cams and remote weather data and webcams
  • Analyze data and develop recommendations to optimize local user experience
  • Hands-on optimization, site structure, page construction, content, and SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
  • News content support as needed
  • Sales content support as needed
  • Marketing content support as needed
  • Implementing new station and corporate projects
  • Social Media management
  • Development Responsibilities & Requirements
  • Extensive experience working with HTML, XML & CSS
  • Advanced knowledge of CMS-based publishing platforms
  • Thorough knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Applications include Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Acrobat
  • Experience working with different digital video formats
  • Troubleshoot causes of website problems and provide solutions
