Position Summary

1.The primary function is to identify, plan and execute promotions and events that generate revenue.  This position will actively pursue, negotiate and manage key station events, client trips and promotions.


Primary functions include increasing revenue by developing our promotions and events.  Working independently and in conjunction with the VP of Sales, the Promotion Event Manager will direct and train the local sales staff, create and execute campaigns and station initiatives. 


The Promotion Event Manager position is also responsible for (but is not limited to) the following:

  • Oversight of sales promotions and events
  • Development of new initiatives and campaigns
  • Relationships with market clients and agencies
  • Point person for station initiatives for other departments
  • Weekly report preparation
  • Expense planning
  • Oversight of selected sales programs
  • Delivery of new business budget
  • Oversight of Daytime special sales


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute and work with local sales staff to implement and reach station initiatives. Includes weekly group sales meetings and roll-outs for new initiatives.  Weekly meetings with sales staff in addition to interfacing with clients, agencies and station departments for the development and implementation of station initiatives.            


  • Manage events and promotions.


  • Supervise fulfillment and execution contractual agreements for sales efforts.      


  • Identify targets to reach and exceed our station initiative goals.


  • Create relationships with clients and agencies. Become an active member of the community and build business network.


  1. Managerial Skills


  • Must have the ability to multi-task, set priorities, and develop station initiatives to increase department efficiency and revenue.
  • Must be well organized and able to plan and execute effective customer focused sales negotiations and presentations.
