Position Summary

The Marketing Specialist possesses a drive to dominate in a highly competitive market. This position will be responsible for creating and executing effective marketing strategies, assisting with campaign development, analyzing the effectiveness of each campaign, and developing and maintaining our high-traffic website and digital assets. The successful candidate will play an integral role in building, engaging, and creating effective strategies that will promote the long-term growth of the station’s high-traffic website, social media accounts, digital assets, and newscasts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a graphic design or marketing role
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite software (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of website design and management (in a WordPress environment)
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, collaboratively with a team or as a self-starter
  • Comfortable taking the initiative on projects with little to no supervision
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with video production and video editing programs (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects) is preferred, but not required



Job Description (but not limited to):

  • Creating banner ad designs for multiple clients
  • Working closely with the sales team on project development and implementation
  • Ensuring creative marketing materials for the station adhere to brand guidelines and undergo regular review (e.g., website, TV, apps, print, etc.)
  • Managing and designing of a high-traffic website,, and a suite of mobile apps
  • Marketing and managing station-specific special projects, contests, events, social media, and expos/conferences
  • Analyzing data to determine campaign efficiency
  • Writing, producing and editing promotional commercials for WDVM-TV
  • Developing and communicating marketing plans, campaign results, and project recommendations to senior staff and management team


Physical Demands & Work Environment:

The Marketing Specialist must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work near others, perform other duties as assigned, work outdoors in all weather conditions on occasion, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
